Doggy bag

I have not managed to get an awful lot done of late due to preparations for my month in and out of hospital hotel. This Friday night has been spent working on the wee Dalmation painting for UnionGallery in Edinburgh. Quite a bit to be done on this puppy but the tricky part is in the bag. I'm toying with the idea of putting a blue sky behind the Dog. We shall see.

St Andrews

I spent the day in St Andrews. A little road trip with my good friend Iain Carby to visit the Fraser Gallery. A very classy and impressive place with a very high standard of work. They have done a sterling job framing the paintings.

St Andrews is a strange little place buzzing with a mixture of students, visitors and friendly locals. There's gold in them there hills.

The weather was great. Thanks for asking

On the easel

This is not the latest photo but I had not posted much for a while.

Will be in touch

Make Art not War

Yesterday's post brought a strange little parcel that was not unlike a russian doll. It boiled down to this small nugget of distilled awesomeness all the way from New York.
Patsy McArthur needs a new hobby?

I shall wear it with pride and avoid making war.

Here's a tiny little charcoal study I finished this afternoon. I quite like the idea but I think I will try a few different models.

Any offers?

I will require new models very soon.

I'm fine, Thanks for asking.

One for Tomorrow

Excessive sorrow laughs. Excessive joy weeps.
William Blake

With a wee bit of luck I should be able to finish this in the morning. Was thinking of putting a bright red bit to the left of the feet?

One for Sorrow

After the unexpected success of my black and white creature triptych, I felt it prudent to paint a few more of our feathered friends. I started this fella this morning and I am, yet again, enjoying a little break from the usual subject matter.

Watch this space for Blackbird, Raven, Badger, Panda, Dalmation and possibly a Cow (I may give the Killer Whale a miss though).

The challenge here is to avoid the fromage!

Broken porthole/portal

Due to my angular posterior connecting with my laptop, I shall be sans internet for a week or so and I will be unable to check my emails with any frequency. If anyone is desperate to contact me please call the Lisle Hotline 0131 561 4265 or the Bat-phone 07914 817 947.

Another terrible photo

I have begun work on the sister piece of the painting with the squares posted a while ago. I'm not too sure where it's going at the moment and will freely admit that I'm winging it. Although it is not the wisest move to resolve a composition directly on the canvas, I am still confident it will be spectacular. I want to have a few images in the squares this time.

I will be doing a bit more work this evening so will probably post again later.
