I am, yet again, painting at four in the morning. I suspect that the vast amounts of strong tea that I have recently taken to imbibing are interfering with my sleep pattern somewhat. My achievements are plentiful but am in danger of becoming nocturnal. I have come to the conclusion that my (and possibly everyones) brain works better at night. My perception is that, without the intangible myriad of distractions the day presents, I can divine an unrelenting focus. It feels like I am back at Uni and pulling an all-nighter...but without the pro-plus and vodka.
Here is a photo of the unfinished kitchen-table project that has consumed my period of slumber. It's another Pica Pica Corvid for The UnionGallery in Edinburgh. There is a similar painting titled "Joy" at El Studio Diablo that awaits my finishing touches. Dylan Bloody Doolittle!
The animal paintings have been very well received, in no small part, thanks to The Amazing Alison at UnionGallery. My recent English Bull Terrier paintings were added to the collections of two esteemed collectors. Both of which have previous animal paintings to welcome the new arrivals. Happy days. It's a nice feeling to know that these paintings exist together as they were intended. Here they are again.
There is a rumour that the Lisle meets Patsy McArthur joint show will be happening in July-ish of 2010 at The UnionGallery in Edinburgh. I am excited and daunted in equal measure. The International Artiste McArthur is a force to be reckoned with and I think there will be an interesting power struggle on display. Sad really.
Right then bed! Prepare for some Lisle...
