Sucker for punishment

Just started this... Why do I put myself under this pressure. I have work due all over the place and my twisted logic tells me "Aye, You can get one more done before the deadline".

Another revisitation

Here are a couple of M&F deaths head hawks moths
. The exact Genus escapes me but they look pretty much the same. The one with the fatter body, thinner antenna and rounder wing tips are probably female from what I gather.

These are my specimens. They are surprisingly large. As in if it landed on you you would shit bricks. Beautiful creatures. Like weird little birds

This is how these things start. It just gets darker from now on.

Portraits of respected Tattoo artists

I'm planning a wee portfolio of RESPECTED Tattoo Artists. Here's your chance to have a self portrait done for tats n cash. It's nae gonna be cheap but the quality of work should speak for itself.

Lost?

I am at a loss... what to do?
Resort to PI and the golden ratio methinks...

one off

I do not and will not do much of this type of thing but this lad did me an unbelievably good turn.
Thanks

It was my 35th year on this planet today! And a sad one. I'm away from Edinburgh and miss a few people.
Had another Carvery lunch. Then worked for the rest of the day.

Someone had never seen the brickie!

Here's W with his proudly displayed children. I'm not doing many of these wee portraits so slip in quick before I piss off back north.

I think this is ossibly the worst photo I have put up here.. but it's better than F all

old

Revisiting this 50 square piece. There's some nice anatomy in there and it would seem a shame to scrap it.

No motivation

Went to the Madhead Doctor, went and had a carvery lunch, went home feeling bloated and sorry for myself so I just smoked loads of fags and played with this...

It's just a bit of a doodle at the moment but hopefully it will turn into a nice wee thing.

I've not been skiving

I haven't posted for a while but I have been working my socks off. Despite the general chaos of my life, I have still been putting in the hours... admittedly at the wrong end of the candle.

Here's a revisitation to a subject from a while ago. Its essentially a pumped up version of a very similar composition but this time in a more obviously interior setting. It's at a very early stage and is quite dark. I made the choice of an earth green ground which has led to some interesting results in the flesh areas.

The model is non other than the frequently used Alison Auldjo owner of UnionGallery Edinburgh. She is one of my favourite people to paint as she has a remarkable ability to look sullen when a camera is pointed her way. Hahaha!

Portraity commission. About 2 hours work until completion.

You are going to have to Russian bear with me on this one. I can feel it will be a belter just not sure what i'm doing at the moment. Not the smartest way to work but risk is sometimes good in this game.

and here's  Mr Slack showing his ability to quickly pick up techniques and run with them.

winging it

Here's a little something I have just started. Most of the composition was planned... but this circle thing??????? Winging it!

Nearly there

Here's the latest on the commission. It's very nearly completed. All I need is confirmation from the client that they are happy with the face and arm and I can tinker with the hair and add a bit of velatura and glazing.
I'm happy with the way it has developed and feel that it is a successful piece.
